Design a brand identity system flexible enough to help transition from a side hustle to a full-time business, but robust enough to handle wide-scale marketing.

I designed a brand identity system in preparation for heavy use, and now Digital Handyman is ready to take their marketing to the next level.
Details
My friend Michael was torn on whether he should pursue his side hustle full-time or not. Owning my own company, of course, I encouraged him to take the leap! He was missing one thing though: His own look!
Michael hired me, and I got right to work. Our discovery session revealed: 
1. The majority of Michael's jobs were coming from people of color.
2. We want to be known for high-quality work and amazing customer service.
3. Make it big and bold.
With that in mind, I created a stylescape/moodboard to help unify my and Michael's creative vision for the project.
Once I was confident we were on the same page, I moved forward with the design process and started brainstorming on my own. I started exploring some more abstract options at first.
After receiving some feedback, I decided to dial back the abstract ideas and try some more obvious ones.
We were both much happier going in this direction and after a small handful of revisions, here is the final product!
